We are in the Gulf of Alaska. Another 250nm before we reach Kodiak Island. I took a picture from the back of Pangaea last night. Can you guess what it is? He or she that guesses right will be rewarded. Good luck !!!

We have made good progress up north staying in the inner passage to Juneau. Whales, seals and bird everywhere. The natural beauty up here never stops amazing us. It has been raining for 2 days non-stop and low cloud covers the mountains bringing out the deep green of the forest. No words can describe the beauty of this mysterious place…
Pangaea leaves Prince Rupert this morning and we are heading up to Anchorage Alaska. The trip through the North West Passages begins, a life long dream since I read the first book of Amunsen who sailed it first more than 100 years ago. By chance I was born on the same day as him….
If we all commit to the environment like Nespresso has committed the past 5 days on their Ecotrip the world will stand a chance to survive for the future generations to come. Getting your hands dirty, educating yourself, investing and setting up sustainable programs is what we all should do on a daily basis as our social investment for the future.
We are now sailing around the pristine Queen Charlotte Islands off the North West coast of Canada. These islands are beautiful. Preserved Nature at is best. 20 people from Nespresso are onboard, that’s 27 people altogether with the crew. The boat is bulging at the seams but nobody seems to mind as the surrounding s and activities on the islands have them completely mesmerized.
Pangaea is alive once again with 27 people on board for the June 2011 Nespresso Ecotrip. We are sailing down the South East Coast of the Queen Charlotte Islands, north of Vancouver, Canada. These islands are uninhabited and pristine – a perfect place to bring the group and to show them the Earth’s natural wonders.
I'm back in Vancouver after a short 4 day trip to Switzerland. A lot happened. We had the Canada Selection Camp, were given Swiss citizenship, Annika graduated, did some press interviews and met up with a couple of my friends that i had not seen for 3 years. What I noticed is that nothing changes in the mind of people if the surroundings do not change around us…..
What a lovely day! its raining cat's and dog's here in Switzerland. We need the rain in Europe, it has been dry for too long. Another reason is that Annika finished school today and she will be able to join me in the 'School of Life' from now on. I'm happy to be able to share my life full time with my daughter now.
The Horn family was given Swiss citizenship after being in Switzerland for 22 years. It is a great honor to be able to be given this privilege. It was worth the wait. I have learnt one thing during my past expeditions, and that is, that Rome was not build in one day…..
The time has come to move on up North. I will leave the boat for a couple of days to join the selection camp in Switzerland. Pangaea is ready to return to the Arctic after it's last expedition in Greenland 3 years ago. It is going to be an amazing trip through the north west passages.
